Virtual reality meets real stories at Open Design

The fourth annual Open Design Cape Town Festival kicks off with a bang from 5.00pm on 10 August. This year’s programme is full of talks, open studios, tours, workshops, conferences and other events that will inspire, energise and move you. We’re placing design at the centre of innovation, community and education.

We’ll be publishing the full programme on our website soon, so be sure to have a look at what’s on offer. In the meantime, save the date for the opening bash on 10 August; and a day of inspiring conversation on 11 August. Here’s what you can expect:

Open Design is officially open!
17:00 – 22:00  |  Free entryOpen Design is officially open! On the night, you’ll be able to experiment with new technologies, including augmented and virtual reality, gaming and 3D scanning. Browse the ever-popular bookshop, hosted by Bibliophilia. Doodle your ideas for charity, make stuff at the maker station and meet and greet designers, innovators and social entrepreneurs. Food will be available and Tribe Coffee and Red Bull will provide liquid refreshments.
