Inspirator @Future-ready Skills Day, 29 Oct: Session Three

Co-Founder of MyMachine Global Foundation

In 2008 Piet co-founded MyMachine together with Filip Meuris and Jan Despiegelaere. With its unique and multi-award-winning methodology, MyMachine enables young people to learn that having ideas is fun and essential, and what it takes to bring an(y) idea to life. They learn that you can do this by collaborating, respecting each other’s talents and by being persistent and resilient, creative and entrepreneurial. After being honoured with the United Nations World Summit Award, they created the MyMachine Global Foundation in 2014 to grow the model worldwide. In 2018 the American Friends Fund of MyMachine was founded in New York. Today, MyMachine has collaborations with schools in 13 countries on four continents. They received multiple awards around the globe, the most recent ones being (what in the USA is being referred to as the Oscars of education) the Reimagine Education Presence Learning Gold Winner Award in Philadelphia (2018), and HundrED Innovator 2020. Forbes ran an article on the impact of

MyMachine in the global education space. United Nations, Sir Ken Robinson (New York Times Bestselling author), Harvard University, The New York Academy of Sciences, The Qatar Foundation, HundrED, Katerva, Design-Management Europe, Sir Richard Branson (Virgin Unite), Tom Vander Ark (first Executive Director Education at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), and business leaders and education thinkers alike, all endorse MyMachine.
