ABOUT THE OCTOPUS URBAN FARM AT THE V&A
This 500 square meter Urban Farm was built using the equivalent of 269000 chip packets. It forms part of the V&A Waterfront and Musgrave Spirits Corporate Social Responsibility and provides fresh organic vegetables for two beneficiaries – Ladles of Love and The Homestead.
The garden was designed in the shape of an octopus in order to raise awareness to marine protection. After a two year period it might have to move to a different part of the Waterfront, just as an octopus would move around a rock pool.
The garden was designed by Ian Dommisse, metal features by the Maker Station, initial plant installation by Elements Landscaping and maintained by SEED Community SA’s graduate Mike Mberi.
