The Platonic Solids and the Mathematics of the Soccer Ball
The aim of exposing learners to STEAM experiential learning is to help learners to demonstrate links between maths in the classroom and practical problem-solving techniques, to develop deeper skills in creative and critical thinking. The acronym STE(A)M – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts (The “A” for us will be intimately linked with Applications of Mathematics – particularly as it applies to the Arts and Design – also cross-disciplinary links between science and other learning areas) and Mathematics. Participants will have a chance to experience building the five platonic solids and well as the soccer ball using 4D Frame material which is flexible and user-friendly.
