Join our I Scream & Red makers at the Open Design Afrika Family Makers Weekend where we will be offering basic sewing and bag making workshops all day!
We will have one on one sewing workshops where you can create your very own:
– tote bags
– drawstring backpacks
– cushion covers and other simple sewing crafts
By using our machines and with the helping guidance of our makers, you can create your next customized bag! Bring along an old pair of jeans or fabric and turn that into your new favourite upcycled item or use fabric from our upcycled fabric vault with tons of fabrics and sample books to select from!
10:00 – 17:00 on Saturday 19 – Sunday 20 Oct
WORKSHOP DURATION & COST: 30 – 60min and cost between R100 and R150 depending on the product you choose to make.
All proceeds of this workshop will go toward the training of our disabled makers in disadvantaged communities.
I Scream & Red is an organisation based in Cape Town that teaches people with disabilities how to design bags made from recycled seat belts, reused upholstery and rejected sample fabric books!
